wwOldBlueWebDesigns.com, DBA OBJ, LLC, herein referred to as OBJ, was officially started in January of 2006. The company is located in Sin City - Las Vegas, NV.

People had been asking me to design web sites, flash movies and intros, and web graphics on many different occasions, so I decided to start doing it as a business. I originally came to Las Vegas just after 9/11 to retire, but then I got bored. It didn't take long to learn that the actual winning percentage is only around 1.5%, and the buffet lines pretty much ruin whatever svelte looking figure one has. I'm not much of a gambler anyway, if I lose $20, I can pout for two weeks. My wife.... well now, there is a different story. She spends her weekly allowance on gambling (within her means), and I spend mine on computer or camera toys.

After settling here in Las Vegas, to keep busy, I dabbled in some full-time and part-time jobs. Most were jobs I would like to forget. After being laid off at one job, I decided to start learning this internet stuff. I bought a book "HTML For Dummies," and using NotePad as my HTML editor, I started my first web site (oldbluejacket.com). It was crude, but as I learned new things I would try them out using this site as my test bed. I now use the Adobe CS3 Web Premium software suite in all of my web designs.

Now, I work at home and I am pretty much in front of the computer 5-6 days a week, doing what I like to do. I also dabble in photography on the side.

For a complete background on me, I'll refer you to my military career web site at OldBluejacket.com, of which the last page Life After The Navy will bring you up to date. In short;

Career U.S. Navy - 22 years (Officer & Enlisted)
Hold AA, BBA, MBA Degrees in Business with an emphasis in Information Systems
AeroSpace Companies (Project & Program Management) - 8 years
TeleCommunications Companies (Operations Mgr) - 3 years
Full Time RV'ing, RV Park Management, and just plain taking it easy - 10 years
2001 - Settled in Las Vegas, NV

I am self-taught, and started learning web site design about 4 years ago. As I stated earlier, I started out by reading "HTML For Dummies" and using NotePad as my HTML editor. That was so much fun that I bought more books and some cheap software, and the rest is history. I now use all high-end software (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, PhotoShop, Flash, SwishMax2, and others). Some designers, or companies, would probably classify me as a novice/beginner in this field, but I'll let you be the judge when you look at my Sample Projects. I'm not afraid to try new things as I am always learning. If I can't do something, I'll let you know up front. The customer is not charged for the time I spend researching and learning new concepts.
